In a real Lil' Wayne returning from no one's career trajectory to top Jay-Z move, the New Kids on the Block reunion single, "Summertime," is out-of-nowhere fucking great. The canny, feathered synths actually remind me a bit of a sugarhigh Knife, a la Robyn's "Who's That Girl?" But yes, just so you're keeping score: Madonna/Timberlake/Timbaland's "4 Minutes" = bad. New Kids on the Block reunion single = good. Now make like me and Soulseek yourself a little "Give It To You," courtesy of Jordan Knight circa 1999. This guy shows up near the end of each decade to do one good song.
